Techtel Supports T-Motion RCCP-2A Controller Upgrade for Major Australian Broadcaster

(Sydney, Australia, 16 June 2026) Techtel is pleased to announce that one of the nation's leading broadcasters has chosen to upgrade their existing T-Motion (formerly Telemetrics) systems with eight new EVS T-Motion RCCP-2A robotic camera control panels.

The upgrade forms part of the broadcaster's ongoing commitment to modernising its production infrastructure and enhancing operational efficiency across its news studio network. The new controllers will provide operators with greater precision, improved ergonomics, and an enhanced user experience when controlling T-Motion robotic camera systems.

Initial discussions surrounding the upgrade commenced in February 2026, with deployment beginning in June. The first RCCP-2A controller was successfully installed in the broadcaster's Perth studio, followed by Adelaide, with remaining installations scheduled across the network.

The RCCP-2A provides a robust and capable solution for robotic camera control, combining an intuitive hardware design with enhanced software functionality. Featuring the advanced RCCP Studio software, the new controller introduces a modern touchscreen interface and customisable hot keys, enabling operators to access critical functions more quickly and efficiently.

Among the most significant improvements is the addition of dual joystick controls. The left joystick provides dedicated control of the robotic pedestal's rover and elevating functions, while the right joystick independently manages pan and tilt movements. This separation allows for more natural and precise camera operation, helping operators achieve smoother and more accurate shot composition during live productions. This dual-joystick configuration enhances compatibility with the latest Telemetrics Rovers and supports virtual robotic tracking, providing operators with greater precision and safety during live productions.

The controller also incorporates dual focus knobs, giving operators enhanced control over lens focus adjustments and supporting greater precision when capturing critical on-air content.

"Broadcasters continue to seek ways to streamline operations while maintaining the highest production standards," said Marcus Van Altena, Business Development Manager at Techtel. "The RCCP-2A delivers a more intuitive and responsive control experience for robotic camera operators, and we're pleased to support our customer's continued investment in modernising their studio environments."

As a long-standing partner to Australia's broadcast industry, Techtel continues to work closely with broadcasters to deploy innovative technology solutions that improve workflow efficiency, operational reliability, and production quality across increasingly sophisticated studio environments.
