Techtel Successfully Relocates AICD Broadcast Studio to New Sydney Headquarters

Sydney, 14 July 2026 – Techtel, a leading broadcast systems integrator in the Asia-Pacific, has successfully completed the dismantling, transport and reinstallation of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ (AICD) broadcast studio, relocating the facility to AICD’s new Sydney headquarters at 1 Martin Place.

The move follows Techtel’s June 2025 delivery of AICD’s upgraded studio, which was rebuilt after damage to the organisation’s original production space. The new facility introduced a streamlined, broadcast-grade environment designed to support AICD’s growing content portfolio, including webinars, podcasts, panel discussions and live events.

With AICD relocating its Sydney operations to the heart of the city’s financial district, Techtel worked closely with AICD and the builders responsible for the new premises to ensure the studio could be carefully dismantled, safely transported and fully reassembled within the organisation’s new Sydney Member Lounge.

The relocation required meticulous planning and technical coordination to preserve the integrity of the broadcast system while adapting it to the new space. Techtel managed the full process — from decommissioning and transport logistics through to rebuilding, testing and recommissioning the studio — ensuring the facility was ready to resume production in its new home.

The studio retains the same powerful production capabilities delivered in the 2025 upgrade. A standout feature is the 5x5 Retop HIPADII 1.5mm pixel pitch LED video wall, powered by a Novastar H2 processor, delivering wide viewing angles and high-resolution imagery for professional on-screen presentations.

Production workflows are supported by the Quicklink StudioPro 8, enabling intuitive live switching and remote guest integration — ideal for non-technical operators managing webinars and hybrid events.

The studio also features a purpose-built lighting grid using Velvet LED panels, comprehensive acoustic treatment, and a Dante-enabled audio workflow incorporating Shure wireless microphones and a Yamaha DM3 mixer.

Camera systems include two Panasonic UE160 PTZ cameras, equipped with anti-moiré filters suited for LED environments, alongside a Sony FX6 camera to enable cinematic-style production when required. Monitoring is handled via a TVLogic LVM181S broadcast-grade multi-format monitor.

A distinctive centrepiece of the studio remains the custom webinar desk created by sculptor Sam Creecy, crafted from recycled timber to reflect AICD’s values of integrity and sustainability.

With the studio now fully operational at 1 Martin Place, AICD is equipped with a flexible and professional broadcast environment capable of supporting its expanding digital content strategy while providing members with high-quality live and on-demand programming.
