As a component of their new content management project, News Digital Media has selected Telestream’s FlipFactory software to fulfil its video transcoding requirements throughout Australia. News Digital Media will install eight FlipFactory engines in the initial phase of the project, with further engines to be installed at a later stage - possibly doubling the initial deployment. Telestream’s Australian distributor, Techtel Pty Ltd, will work closely with News Digital Media to supply and support the software throughout the integration.
News Media Digital has selected the FlipFactory software due to its ability to provide a fast, powerful and scalable way to automate media workflows between all major video and audio file formats. FlipFactory’s performance using both Flash MPEG4 and Flash VP6 codecs was carefully scrutinised and the results confirmed the eligibility of FlipFactory for the install.
News Digital Media intends to integrate FlipFactory with web content asset manager, thePlatform. A close partnership between FlipFactory and thePlatform was a pre-requisite of the chosen system, providing the means for handling large volumes of broadband media in a simpler and smarter fashion.
